The Healthy Living Center offers a variety of classes, programs, and workshops led by certified instructors, registered dietitians, and pharmacists from the YMCA, CDPHP, and Hannaford. Topics cover a wide range of areas, including fitness, nutrition, senior health, medication safety, disease management, and more. Membership is not required.
Pedaling for Parkinson’s – Pedaling a bicycle at a fast pace has been proven to help Parkinson’s patients delay or in some cases improve their symptoms and quality of life. If you or someone you know could benefit from this program please contact branch Director for program specifics and schedule.
Silver Sneakers Classic – Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.
Women on Weights – A class designed to help you feel comfortable lifting weights. We use strengthening exercises for all areas of the body in an interval training format for an efficient blend of strength and cardiovascular conditioning.

Weigh 2 Be – Take control of your weight and health, and develop a realistic personal plan for lasting weight loss by making healthy lifestyle changes related to nutrition and physical activity.
Release the Pressure – Discover step-by-step recommendations for achieving a healthier lifestyle while preventing or managing high blood pressure. Participants will have the opportunity to have their blood pressure taken and to have medication-related questions answered by a Hannaford pharmacist. This program provides motivation and education for individuals ready to take control of their cardiovascular health.
Massage Therapy – $65 per one hour massage or $30 for a half hour. Call or visit us in person to schedule your appointment with our LMP (licenenced massage therapist), Karen!
Personal Training – Personal training is an excellent way to motivate and focus your exercise regimen, learn how to exercise safely and effectively, and overcome your workout plateau. We offer personal training sessions with a certified Y trainer at a rate of $40 per one-hour session, or $60 per kickstart session. The kickstart program includes an intial 45 min assesment, plus two 30 min follow-ups. We also offer packages with discounted rates.
Level II Classes – We offer two advanced classes, Pilates Mat Plus and Cycling II, for a reduced fee. Both classes are $45 per 6-week session. See the schedule or visit us in person to sign up for a series. Keep in mind, if it is your first time participating in either cycling or pilates, we ask that you try out several beginner’s classes to start out with.
